HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
1040 AM CDT MON MAR 9 2015

...HEAVY RAIN EXPECTED THIS WEEK WITH FLOODING POSSIBLE...

HEAVY RAIN IS EXPECTED ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS WEEK AS TWO
RAINFALL EVENTS PRODUCE 3 TO 5 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER
AMOUNTS POSSIBLE...LATER TODAY THROUGH FRIDAY. THIS RAINFALL WILL
LIKELY CAUSE AREA RIVERS AND CREEKS TO RISE AND SOME FLOODING WILL
BE POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY LATER THIS WEEK.

OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS...THE MID STATE HAS RECEIVED SEVERAL
EPISODES OF RAIN...ICE...AND SNOW...AND GROUNDS ARE NOW SATURATED
ACROSS MANY AREAS. THE SATURATED SOIL WILL CAUSE MUCH OF THE
RAINFALL EXPECTED THIS WEEK TO RUNOFF INTO AREA RIVERS AND CREEKS.
THE FIRST RAINFALL EVENT WILL OCCUR MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH EARLY
WEDNESDAY AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVES NORTHWARD OUT OF THE
WESTERN GULF OF MEXICO...WITH RAINFALL TOTALS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES AND
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE. AFTER A SHORT BREAK IN THE RAIN
ON WEDNESDAY...A SECOND ROUND OF RAIN WILL MOVE NORTH INTO MIDDLE
TENNESSEE THURSDAY AND FRIDAY...WITH AN ADDITIONAL 2 TO 3 INCHES
OF RAINFALL POSSIBLE. TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS THIS WEEK OF 3 TO 5
INCHES ARE EXPECTED...ALTHOUGH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ARE
POSSIBLE...WITH THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL ACROSS SOUTHERN AND EASTERN
MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

STAY TUNED TO THE LATEST FORECASTS THIS WEEK AS FLOOD WATCHES OR
WARNINGS MAY BE NECESSARY. AS ALWAYS...WHEN FLOODING IS OBSERVED
OR A WARNING IS ISSUED...MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY. NEVER
ATTEMPT TO CROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY. TURN AROUND...DON`T DROWN!
