On March 8, 2015, at 8:30 P.M., officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to Atwood Avenue and Indian Street, in the city of Moreno Valley, regarding a report of a traffic accident involving a vehicle and pedestrian.

Officers arrived within minutes and discovered a 3 year old juvenile was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. The juvenile was transported to the Riverside Community Regional Medical Center due to injuries sustained during the collision. The vehicle that fled the scene was described as an older model Red or Maroon GMC Yukon.

Members of the Moreno Valley Police Department’s Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team conducted an investigation. Witnesses said the driver stopped, exited her vehicle, and appeared to be concerned about the juvenile prior to fleeing the scene. The driver of the vehicle was described as an older black female adult, wearing a yellow shirt and white pants. The driver and vehicle possibly reside in the area of Atwood and Indian Street.

This is an active and ongoing investigation.
