INDOT has advised that State Road 56 is closed between Madison and Vevay due to water over the roadway. 
Jefferson County 911 has been advised by the Indiana Department of Transportation that they are closing State Road 56 between Madison, Indiana and Vevay, Indiana due to water over the roadway.
Water is over the roadway in the area of SR 56 and Patton Hollow Road in Switzerland County. Signs will be posted in Madison and Vevay and local access is still permitted. SR 56 is open and passable in Jefferson County at this time.
Motorists are reminded not to attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Water may be deeper than it appears.
