GCSO releases identity of teenager from yesterday's death investigation

On Sunday (03/15/15) morning, Greene County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a home in the 3100 block of W Countryside Dr in southwest Greene County. 15-year old white male, later identified as Ezra Cole who was a student at Parkview High School, was staying with friends overnight at this location. When they were unable to wake Cole up on Sunday morning, an adult at the home called 911. Once GCSO Deputies arrived, the Deputies attempted life saving efforts which continued after paramedics and firefighters arrived on scene; unfortunately, they were unable to resuscitate Cole.

An autopsy was conducted this afternoon to determine an official cause of death, pending toxicology results. There was no obvious physical signs of trauma to the body.

"This is a very tragic event - our hearts and prayers are extended to Ezra's family during this extremely difficult time," stated Sheriff Jim Arnott.

Greene County Sheriff's Detectives are investigating the incident and the investigation is on-going. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the GCSO Tip Line at 417-829-6230.
