NARRATIVE:
On Tuesday, March 17th, 2015, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives responded to “Children’s Hospital Los Angeles”, 4650 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, to investigate the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death of an infant.
Homicide detectives have learned family members in the residence, 2300 block of East Avenue J-8, Lancaster, called 9-1-1, after the infant was injured in the home. The infant was transported to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for a traumatic brain injury but did not survive and was pronounced dead.
A preliminary investigation revealed family members’ account of how the infant was injured are inconsistent with the type of injury the infant sustained.
The Investigation is in its early stages, and no arrests have been made.
The exact cause of death will be determined by Los Angeles County Department of Coroner personnel.
