Chief John Proctor wants Albany citizens to be aware of a telephone scam.

Proctor says an unknown person is calling and stating that they are from Georgia Power and that the person's electricity will be turned off unless they make a credit card payment over the phone. The caller ID number shows as 877-828-3343. Proctor says no one should give out their personal information over the phone.
