Travis Hutchinson is reporting that deputies have arrested a man and woman who have admitted their involvement in dumping the body of Nathaniel Abshire in a field on Armstrong road.

Matthew Lee Miller age 32, of 1020 E. Bowman Street Wooster Ohio.

Virginia Lea Dininger age 32 of 9177 Shank Rd Litchfield Ohio.


Deputies responded to the 800 block of Armstrong road shortly before noon on March 25th after two oilfield workers discovered a body in a field adjacent to an oil well. Initially the body was unidentified, but investigators learned the identity of the man after relatives saw a Sheriff’s Office posting about the matter on social media. The man was identified as Nathaniel Dakota Abshire age 22, of Medina Township Ohio.

As the investigation into the matter continued, both Miller and Dininger were identified as suspects, with Dininger being arrested on Wednesday evening and Miller the following morning. Both Miller and Dininger were acquaintances with Abshire.

Investigator were able to learn that Dininger and Abshire were guest in Millers home on Sunday. After awaking from sleep Dininger discovered Abshire was dead. After this discovery, Miller and Dininger loaded Abshire’s body into Dininger’s car and discarded the body at the Armstrong road location.

The cause of death will be determined after the results of an autopsy are received and it is possible that additional charges will be filed.

At this time both suspects are currently incarcerated in the Wayne County Jail.
