Sexual Assault Investigation
On March 30, 2015, at approximately 9:00 am, Corona Police Officers were notified by the Riverside Sheriff’s Department that they were out with the victim of a sexual assault that may have occurred in Corona. Corona Police Officers responded to that location and interviewed the 36-year-old female victim. She stated that during the evening hours of March 29th, she was walking e/b on Magnolia Ave in Corona or the Home Gardens area when she was picked up by a white male adult, approximately 40-years-old driving a white pickup. The female was driven around Riverside County for several hours and at some point was forced to perform a sexual act. The victim was later dropped off in the City of Norco, where the Riverside Sheriff’s Department was contacted. The actual location of occurrence is still unknown.
There have been media reports and social media postings regarding 3 separate kidnappings and sexual assaults occurring within the City of Corona, Eastvale and Norco area. There is no evidence to support any link of the incident occurring this morning with any reported incidents in the Eastvale or Norco area.
The Corona Police Department has been in contact with the Riverside Sheriff’s Department. The Riverside Sheriff’s Department has released a statement via Twitter that they have received numerous inquiries regarding assaults in the Eastvale and Norco area. The Riverside Sheriff’s Department advises that this is false information being posted on Facebook.
