Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Sikeston area man arrested for domestic assault and drug charges.

Justin Kane Holland (29) of 310 Robinwood, Sikeston, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Domestic Assault 2nd and Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Sheriff Walter states that on Monday, March 30, 2015 deputies responded to 310 Robinwood, Sikeston for a report of a domestic disturbance in progress. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the victim. She stated Holland had grabbed her arm and pulled her off of the bed. Holland then punched the victim in the mouth with a fist and grabbed her throat preventing her from breathing. Holland continued to struggle with the victim, and Holland pushed her against a wall causing an injury to the back of her head.

The victim’s shirt was stained with blood, which was coming from her mouth. She had multiple red marks on her throat, and the back of her head was swollen in two areas. Emergency services arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Deputies later located Holland and arrested him. Upon searching Holland, incident to arrest, a small plastic bag was located in his pants. The bag contained two different prescription pills and one is a registered controlled substance. Holland admitted he knew the pill was a controlled substance and did not belong to him.

Holland was transported to the Scott County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Sheriff Walter commends the deputies for locating Holland and making the arrest. Holland remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $1,000.00 cash only and no contact with the victim.
