Citizen’s Tip Leads to Drug Arrest

Peru – Last night, a criminal investigation by officers from the Indiana State Police and the Miami County Sheriff’s Department led to the arrests of two Miami County residents.

Officers initiated an investigation after receiving a citizen’s tip that possible illegal drug activity was occurring at Lot 237, in the Woodland Hills Trailer Court. During the course of the investigation, officers received permission to search the property. They allegedly found a methamphetamine lab in a shed on the lot. During a subsequent search of the residence, officers allegedly found items associated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.

John Wilson, 48, and Sondra Stabler, 53, both from Peru, were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. They each face criminal charges for possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of chemical precursors, and possession of methamphetamine.  Wilson faces an additional charge for manufacturing methamphetamine.

Citizens are encouraged to report suspected illegal drug activity by calling their local law enforcement agency or the Indiana State Police. They can make anonymous reports by calling the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Tip Hotline at 1-800-453-4756.
