"I stepped out of the vehicle and he said, 'Get back in that car, don't even think about opening the door and running,'" Porties said. "I just shook my head and said, 'No, this is not happening.'"

Porties said she was determined to live.

"I was determined to get back for my kids," she said.

Porties said it happened March 24 near Livernois and 7 Mile. She had just got back from the airport and was waiting for her garage to open. That's when she says a man peered into her window.

"He reached into his pocket and pulled out a gun," she said. "It was a revolver, a pretty big gun. And he shot the tire out on the driver side. I just threw my hands up."

He opened the door, pushed her over and into the passenger seat, and drove off. Her seven children were calling for their mama.

"I said a lot of 'Yes sirs,'" Porties said. "'Thank-yous, please,' just so I could keep him calm."

As he drove, she paid close attention to where he was taking her. Eventually they pulled off and he forced her to perform oral sex on him using a latex glove as a condom.

"He also tried to penetrate my body with his own," she said. "But for whatever reason, he could not maintain an erection."

Eventually, she said he started the car and drove off. She knew she had to do something and noticed her door was unlocked. So she pulled the handle and jumped out of the moving car.

"I noticed when I looked back that the tire was completely flat," she said. "He was trying to make a u-turn. I didn't look back."

Detroit police are now reviewing possible DNA evidence and looking into other possible victims. They say this man is extremely dangerous.

"He's about 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 275 to 300 pounds," said Marvin Jones of the Detroit Police Department Sex Crimes Unit. "Very light complected. Guys like this, in particular, we want to get off the street as fast as possible."

Porties, a single mother after losing her husband in 2007, refuses to live in fear while he walks the streets.

"I wasn't thinking about myself, I was thinking about the children and the terror, that they were experiencing and the trauma," she said. "What kind of culture are we becoming?"

Police caution women as temperatures warm up to be aware of your surroundings at all times and encourage any possible victims or those who know the suspect to contact them or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
