Stabbing Suspect Arrested
On 04-05-15, WFPD Patrol Officers were dispatched to 500 Fillmore in reference to a woman screaming. Upon arrival, officers found a female with a stab wound to her back. Officers learned that the offender, Stanley Harper (age 35, DOB 01-27-80), broke into the victim’s apartment through a window. Once inside, Harper began to assault her. The victim was attempting to call the police when he stabbed her. Contact with 9-1-1 was made temporarily, but Harper took the phone, disconnected the call, and fled the scene. The victim was transported to the hospital for her injuries.
Officers received information that Harper was possibly at a residence in the 1600 Blk of Central Frwy. Officers quickly responded to this address and Harper was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Burglary of a Habitation (with intent to commit other felony – aggravated assault) and Interference with Emergency Telephone call. He is currently being held in the Wichita County Jail.
This was not a random act of violence. The suspect and victim had a family relationship as defined by the Texas Penal Code.
