Coyote attacked a person working in their yard- Twin Brooks Area-
On Monday April 6, 2015, a resident from the Twin Brooks area reported that a coyote had attacked him from behind while he was working in his yard. He was able to escape from the coyote and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Members of the Saddle River Police Department responded to the area and began an investigation. It was learned that this same coyote had attacked a neighbor’s dog last week requiring the dog to receive medical attention. Workers in the area reported seeing this coyote several times today acting aggressively towards other dogs. The Officers located this coyote running through a neighbor’s yard during daylight. TYCO Animal Control was notified and responded to the area to assist the Officers. Conservation Officers from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Fish and Wildlife were notified and responded to the scene and assisted the Saddle River Police Officers. The coyote was again located in the woods and euthanized. The animal is being transported to the Division of Fish and Wildlife for testing and analysis. The victim is home recovering.
