On Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Cypress Police Officers and personnel will take “Protect and Serve” to a whole new level. Officers will be taking orders, serving food and cleaning tables to raise money for the Special Olympics Orange County Region. This “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser will take place at Chili’s Restaurant (10643 Valley View Street) in the City of Cypress.

“If you’re looking to have some fun, the men and women of the Cypress Police Department will be volunteering their time to wait on tables in support of Special Olympic athletes by donating 100% of all tips collected. Grab a salad, a burger or their famous baby back ribs and come on out to meet Cypress’ finest.” says Cypress Mayor Rob Johnson.

Officers will trade in their handcuffs for aprons to spend the evening at Chili’s Restaurant serving customers while serving the community. Officers will team up with the Special Olympics Athletes to deliver food and collect donations in the form of tips to benefit the Special Olympics program.

This fun filled event creates community partnerships and raises money while building awareness for Special Olympics. For over 20 years, law enforcement agencies throughout Southern California have teamed up with area restaurants in the community to come together and make a difference. This year, Chili’s Restaurant is partnering with the Cypress Police Department to host “Tip-A-Cop” night. 100% of all tips donated to the officers and athletes will go directly to the Special Olympics.
