Victim: Paul William Guzman (39) Santa Ana
On Wednesday, 04-08-15, at approximately 2:40 P.M., officers responded to the area of 1100 W. Chestnut reference a shooting that had just occurred and a male victim who was shot multiple times. When officers arrived, they found victim Paul Guzman suffering from several gunshot wounds to the upper torso. The Orange County Fire Authority Paramedics responded and transported the victim to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he later died of his injuries.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to handle the investigation. Detectives’ preliminary investigation has revealed victim Guzman and the suspect were acquaintances. It appears that an argument occurred between the two prior to the shooting. A handgun, believed to have been used in the shooting, was found by officers near the crime scene.
The suspect fled the area on foot and is currently being sought by Detectives. The suspect’s name is being withheld at this time due to ongoing efforts by law enforcement to locate him.
