2015 National Public Safety Dispatcher Appreciation Week

During the week of April 12-18, we are proud to support our CPD Dispatchers for the 2015 National Public Safety Dispatcher Appreciation Week. Public Safety Dispatchers are the ones who answer most of the incoming calls to Corona PD and relay important information to our officers in the field.

Dispatchers are an integral part of the process regarding our response to the community. They work behind the scenes, and are often not recognized for their extremely critical work. They are the ones who answer 911 when you need help. They are a calm voice in that moment of need, and the ones who get the information to tell first responders where they are needed.

Dispatcher Appreciation Week began in California in 1981 and quickly grew to national recognition. Just ten years later, Congress designated the second full week of April as a time to remember the critical role that dispatchers play in keeping us all safe.

On behalf of the Corona Police Department, we say “Thank You” to our Public Safety Dispatchers.
