Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a South Carolina man arrested for Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Drug and Alcohol charges.

Ryan A. McManus (18) of Lancaster, South Carolina has been charged with the Class C Felony of Stealing a Motor Vehicle, the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and the Misdemeanor Possession of Alcohol by a Minor.

Sheriff Walter states that on Monday, April 13, 2015 deputies responded to the Vanduser Gin Company at 801 Hamilton Street, Vanduser for a report of a stolen work truck. The truck was later located by the Missouri State Highway Patrol near Advance, Missouri in a ditch.

On Tuesday, April 14, 2015 deputies were called back to the Gin Company reference McManus being located on the property. McManus was located and admitted to stealing the work truck and wrecking it near Advance, Missouri. Located in McManus’ backpack were narcotic prescription pills and a bottle of alcohol.

Deputies arrested McManus and took him to the Scott County Jail pending the filing of formal charges by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

McManus remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $2,500 cash only.
