Lafayette-Yesterday afternoon at the Lafayette City Building officers from ISP, Lafayette, West Lafayette, Purdue and Tippecanoe County were honored as Top Cop winners for Operating While Intoxicated arrests for 2014.
The award, which is given to officers with at least 20 OWI arrests for Tippecanoe County by the Drive Sober, Inc. of Tippecanoe County, is a small token of our appreciation says DSI President Dan Towery. The special guest speakers included Tippecanoe County Prosecutor Pat Harrington, Tippecanoe County Coroner Donna Avolt and Sergeant Chad Robinson of the Lafayette Police Department, who is also the “FACT” Team Leader.
Each participant received a plaque recognizing their accomplishment. Each department has a plaque that has past winners and their names will be added as well.
Other winners include from Lafayette PD, Officer Blake Switzer and Sergeant Adam Mellady, from West Lafayette, officers Dave Smith and James Spray, from Purdue PD, Sergeant Song Kang and from Tippecanoe County, Sergeant Robert Hainje.
