SUBJECT OF RELEASE: One car, pin in, injury crash
DATE AND TIME: Reported at 7:30 A.M. on Sunday, April 19, 2015
LOCATION: Fitzner Road south of Sidney Road, Montcalm Township
The Montcalm County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a one car crash on Fitzner Road south of Sidney Road, Montcalm Township at 7:30 A.M. on Sunday, April 19, 2015.
The investigation revealed that Paul Hamilton, 53 years of age from Gowen, was traveling north on Fitzner Road when he lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. Mr. Hamilton was trapped in his vehicle and had to be extracted. The exact time of the crash is not known for it is believed Mr. Hamilton was involved in the collision several hours prior and remained pinned in his vehicle until a passerby came upon the scene. Mr. Hamilton was transported to United Memorial Hospital by Montcalm County Emergency Medical Services with serious injuries. The airbags were not deployed during the crash and seat belt use is unknown. The crash remains under investigation.
