Jennifer M. Niswonger (31) of 2710 Ellis Street, Scott City, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Possession of a Controlled Substance, the Class A Misdemeanor of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Trespassing in the Second Degree.
Sheriff Walter states that on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 a deputy responded to a field in the 8000 block of State Highway N, outside of Scott City. The property owner reported a vehicle in his field.
Inside the vehicle, the deputy located identification belonging to Niswonger. In plain view, the deputy saw a metal smoking pipe with burnt residue inside of it, which appeared to be used for smoking a controlled substance. The smoking pipe field tested positive for marijuana.
While the deputy was on scene, Niswonger came back to the vehicle. Niswonger admitted to driving the vehicle and leaving it on the property, which did not belong to her.
Niswonger was arrested and transported to the Scott County Jail. At the jail, Niswonger admitted to having prescription pills in her wallet, which are controlled substances. They were seized. Niswonger was booked in the jail pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.
Niswonger remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $500.00 cash only.
