Columbus – Indiana State Police Superintendent Doug Carter has promoted Columbus resident Richard T. Roseberry, a 19-year veteran of the Department, to Sergeant.

Master Trooper Investigator Roseberry received the promotion to Sergeant-Polygraph Examiner recently after participating in a competitive promotion process.

In his new capacity, Sergeant Roseberry will receive training at a twelve-week school in order to become a Certified Polygraph Examiner. Upon completion of the training, Roseberry will be assigned to the ISP Polygraph Examination Unit as an examiner.

Sergeant Roseberry is a 19-year veteran of the Indiana State Police. He was appointed in December 1995 as a member of the 53^rd ISP Recruit School and served as a Probationary Trooper at the Versailles Post. During his assignment at the Versailles Post, he served two temporary duty assignments to the Gaming Division as well as performing regular road patrol duties. Master Trooper Roseberry transferred to the Seymour Post in 2000 where he was assigned road patrol duties in Bartholomew County. Roseberry served as a member of the Tactical Intervention Platoon as well. While at the Seymour Post, Roseberry was promoted to District Detective in 2005. In 2010 Master Trooper Roseberry was transferred to the Versailles Post where he served as District Detective until his recent promotion to Sergeant.

Sergeant Roseberry is a 1988 graduate of Columbus North High School and graduated in 1993 from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He currently resides in Bartholomew County with his wife and two children.
