Monroe City Man Arrested after Chase ends in Cornfield
Pike County – Last night at approximately 11:50, Trooper John Davis was patrolling SR 61 north of Petersburg when he observed a GMC pickup truck driving left of center near the White River Bridge. Trooper Davis attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver turned onto a farm access road and accelerated into a cornfield near the river bottoms. The chase ended when the driver drove his vehicle into approximately three-feet of water. After a brief altercation, the driver, Harold Mark Wilson, 53, of Monroe City, was taken into custody. Further investigation revealed he had a blood alcohol content of .10%. He was taken to the Pike County Jail where he is currently being held on bond.
