2 people in custody after leading Deputies in early morning pursuit; Deputies find more stolen mail, credit cards and other personal information in yet another vehicle
At approximately 4:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, 05/02/15, Greene County Sheriff's Deputies were called about a suspicious vehicle in the area of S Eldon/W Woodland. Deputies tried to stop the vehicle but the driver led them on a pursuit through southern Greene County ending near the intersection of E Republic Rd and S Charleston Ave. The vehicle stopped after it became disabled due to a damaged front end. The 32-year old female driver and her 33-year old male passenger were arrested & taken into custody without incident.
Upon further investigation, Deputies located several pieces of stolen mail, various credit cards and personal checks from different people and addresses throughout SW Greene County; another similar incident occurred earlier in the week where 46-year old Springfield resident Eric Vancil was formally charged with Trafficking in Stolen Identities.
The investigation is on-going investigation and charges will be submitted to the Greene County Prosecuting Attorney's Office for review.
