3 people, including a Montcalm County Sheriff’s deputy, were treated for minor injuries Saturday afternoon after a 2 car crash on M-66 near Colby Road.
Shortly before 5:00 pm Central Dispatch received a report of a 2 car injury crash at the intersection of M-66 and Sidney Roads. A sheriff’s deputy was responding to this accident and travelling southbound on M-66 with lights and siren activated. Just south of Colby Road the deputy pulled into the northbound lane to move around traffic that was slowing or stopping when another southbound vehicle made a left turn into the path of the patrol vehicle. The two vehicles collided and went off the east side of the roadway before coming to rest. The driver of the second vehicle had been attempting to turn into a private driveway. Both occupants of this car, a 19 year old Sheridan man and a 17 year old Sheridan woman, were taken to Sheridan Community Hospital where they were treated and released.
