Harrison Football Team and Home Depot Donate Time and Materials to Lafayette Post
Lafayette-On May 2, 2015 Home Depot of Lafayette generously donated materials and the Harrison High School football Team donated time to help the Lafayette State Police Post prepare for their upcoming Memorial Service to honor those who have died in the line of duty.
Since the early days of the Indiana State Police, memorial services have been held each May at all Indiana State Police districts to perpetuate the memory of those who have died in the line of duty. The service serves as a means of paying tribute to those who died in the line of duty, that their sacrifice was not made in vain, and as a reminder to those of us left behind that we should strive to maintain the level of professional service to the public our departed comrades so unselfishly gave their lives for.
Preparing for this every year entails not only making sure that our facility is in order but to ensure the outside of our post looks as good. The mulch and flowers donated by Home Depot and the man power donated by the Harrison Football Team helped make the preparation much easier.
Commander of the Lafayette Post, Lieutenant Tom McKee stated, “We are truly blessed with the generosity that Home Depot and the Harrison Football Team have shown us. This will make our memorial service a little more special knowing the support of the community is there.”
