On Monday May 4th, 2015 a resident from the High Ridge section of Saddle River reported a burglary to their residence. Sometime after 6:45 PM an unknown actor/s made entry to the residence through an open second floor window. The screen was removed by the actor/s and items were stolen from the second floor of the residence. Family members were in the home during this incident but only on the first floor. When the resident went to secure the window for the evening, the burglary was discovered.

The following tips may reduce your chances of becoming a victim;
*Lock your doors and windows- Patrol locates insecure doors regularly.
 If you have an alarm system, update it, and use it.
 Second story windows should be alarmed.
 Leave interior and exterior lights on to make your home appear occupied.
 Leave a television or radio on inside your home.
 Please remove jewelry and valuables from the bedrooms.
 Remove safes from the master bedroom and their closets.
 Lock any unoccupied vehicles and remove the key fobs from them.
 Remove mail and newspapers from your driveway the day they are delivered.
 Secure any ladders on your property.
