Former DeKalb County Man Arrested for Stalking and Intimidation
(Peru, IN)-A 20 year old man from Peru, formerly of DeKalb County, was arrested this afternoon on multiple stalking and intimidation charges following a week long investigation by the Indiana State Police.
Brandon K. Studebaker of the 200 block of West 2nd Street in Peru is alleged to have made threatening telephone calls to a business in Angola that formerly employed him back in 2013. He is also accused of sending in excess of 13,000 messages via Facebook private messaging to a female employee of the same company over the last two years.
According to Detective Jake Quick, the female victim originally thought the messages to have been "spam", but upon further investigation, it was found that several of the messages were described to have been "threatening and disturbing in nature". Studebaker is currently incarcerated in the Steuben County Jail without bond and faces the following charges:
- Stalking, Level 5 Felony
- Four Counts of Intimidation, Level 6 Felonies
Quick was assisted by the Angola Police Department and the Steuben County Prosecutor's Office.
