We recently experienced a series of burglary to motor vehicle reports which occurred between Saturday night (3rd) and Sunday morning (4th). The majority of these incidents happened in the area of the Avenues and into Cottonwood / Chestnut Court. There was an additional car burglary reported on Brookside Court and a resident saw individuals in their driveway on Locust Street and called 9-1-1. It appears that all of these incidents may be related, but we are not certain at this point.
One important fact that was similar between these calls was that the vehicles that were entered were unlocked. Please be sure to lock your vehicles when they are parked outside in order to remove opportunity for thieves.
