The AMGEN Tour of California bicycle race will be coming through the City of Livermore on Tuesday May 12th.

Stage three of the AMGEN Tour of California bicycle race takes place on May 12th and begins in San Jose. The race will travel on Calaveras Road to State Route 84 and enter Livermore coming northbound on State Route 84. Riders will turn eastbound onto Vallecitos Road, and continue to Holmes Street before turning eastbound onto Concannon Boulevard. The race will continue eastbound on Concannon Boulevard, turn southbound on South Livermore Avenue and head out of town to Mines Road.

The race is expected to be in Livermore around 11:25 am and be out of town around noon.

State Route 84 will be closed to both northbound and southbound traffic from I680 to the intersection of Isabel/Vallecitos from about 11:00 am to about noon. Vallecitos Road, Holmes Street between Vallecitos Road and Concannon Boulevard, and Concannon Boulevard between Holmes Street and South Livermore Avenue will be closed from about 11:15 am to just after noon. This will cause considerable traffic issues on the southwest part of town.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and find alternate routes around the race course. Residents living south of Concannon Boulevard and east of Holmes Street will not be able to cross Holmes Street or Concannon Boulevard for about thirty minutes as the race passes through Livermore. The exact time cross traffic will be closed is unknown as it depends on the speed of the bicycle racers and what time they arrive in Livermore.

Members of the Livermore Police Department, City of Livermore public works personnel, and Livermore PD volunteers will all be working at the various intersections and cross streets to promote the race safely traveling through town.
