The Plymouth Township Police Department would like to inform citizens that Plymouth Township, including many other cities, villages and townships in and around Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Livingston counties have been experiencing a heavy rash of larceny of wheels and tires from vehicles parked at homes, apartment / condo complexes and businesses including new and used vehicles at car dealerships.
Ford Motor products such as the newer Ford Explorer, Ford Edge, Ford Flex and Ford Fusion have been targeted as well as Lincoln and higher end General Motors cars and trucks equipped with the larger 18 to 20 inch diameter wheels.
If you have wheel locks on your wheels already, please try to find a place inside your vehicle to conceal the wheel lock key other than the center console or glove box. Plymouth Township Police Department also asks you to please do not hesitate to report any suspicious persons and / or vehicles to the police. Thank you.
