Announces an Arrest for:
First Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Discharge of Firearm within City Limits and Second Degree Trespassing
The Southern Pines Police Department announces the arrest of Antonio Jamal Brown, 30 years of age of Raeford, North Carolina for First Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Discharge of Firearm within City Limits, and Second Degree Trespassing. This arrest stems from a Criminal Homicide/Murder Investigation for an incident that occurred on June 26, 2012 on Shaw Avenue located in the Brookside Park Apartment complex in Southern Pines, NC. On June 26, 2012, at approximately 11:41 pm, the Southern Pines Police Department responded to the Brookside Park Apartment complex for a report of a shooting incident. Upon arriving on Shaw, officers located the deceased victim, David Rashawn Shaw, 28 years of age of Southern Pines who had been the apparent victim of a gunshot injury. As a result of an investigation conducted by the Southern Pines Police Department’s Investigation Division, Antonio Jamal Brown was identified as the suspect in this homicide.
Antonio Jamal Brown appeared before a Moore County Magistrate where he was incarcerated in the Moore County Detention Center with no bond pending a hearing in Moore County District Court on June 9, 2015.
