Loud Music Complaint Leads to Arrest for Possession of a Concealed Firearm
On May 17, 2015 at approximately 2:41 a.m., Officer Greg Fillebrown and Detective Sean Bayard responded to the 800 block of Jeffrey Road for a report of loud music.
When officers arrived at the apartment complex, they saw several people sitting in the carport area of the complex consuming alcohol. As the officers approached the group on foot, Fernando Diaz stood up and ran away, crouching behind a nearby vehicle. The officers watched Diaz remove something from his pants and throw it.
The officers arrested Diaz after a loaded firearm was found to have been discarded by him.
Fernando Diaz, 21 of Los Banos was arrested and booked into the Los Banos Police Department jail facility on charges of carrying a concealed firearm and carrying a loaded firearm. Diaz is out of custody on bail.
“Our officers never know what they’ll encounter as they respond to calls for service. In this case, a simple loud music complaint led to the arrest of a man for serious weapons violations.”
