Exotic Pet Bird Stolen from East Los Angeles Woman; Have You Seen Mickey the Macaw? #LASD Investigating
Detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, East Los Angeles Station, are seeking the public’s help in locating a miligold macaw after it was stolen from its cage set on a porch on the 4600 block of Michigan Avenue, Los Angeles.
On Thursday May 14, 2015, at approximately 10:40 a.m., Victim Maria Chavez heard her macaw making loud noises. As she looked through her window, she saw a male, Hispanic adult, taking the macaw from its cage. The victim confronted the male, however he fled the yard with the macaw in hand.
It appears that the suspect, who is believed to be in his mid 20’s, jumped the fence surrounding the victim’s front yard before taking the macaw from its cage.
The victim is very distraught. She considers her macaw named “Mickey,” to be like a family member.
The miligold macaw bird, described as green colored with blue and yellow accents, is pictured above.
