Clay County Native & Bloomington Regional Dispatcher promoted to Dispatch Supervisor
Bloomington – ISP Superintendent Doug Carter recently announced the promotion of Dispatcher Heather Evans to Dispatch Supervisor to serve at the Bloomington Regional Dispatch Center.
Evans’ primary responsibilities will be to supervise Regional Dispatch Center personnel on assigned shifts which include evaluating performance, training and scheduling subordinate personnel. Evans will also ensure Shift Dispatchers maintain constant contact with Troopers in the field and keep the Post Commander aware of all activity. Evans will also assist the Regional Dispatch Center Manager in daily operations and manage 911 and other emergency calls processed by Dispatchers.
The Bloomington Regional Dispatch Center currently serves the Putnamville, Jasper, Evansville and Bloomington Districts.
Originally from Brazil, Indiana Evans graduated from Northview High School in 1991. She attended Ivy Tech College in Terre Haute and was hired by the Indiana State Police as a dispatcher in 2006. Evans has also previously served as a dispatcher with the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department.
Evans is a Mother to two sons, age 21 and 22, both of Brazil.
