Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Haywood City, Missouri man arrested for Burglary, Stealing, and Property Damage.

Darion L. Gipson (20) of 445 Hickory Street, Haywood City, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Burglary in the Second Degree, the Class C Felony of Stealing Over $500, and the Class B Misdemeanor of Property Damage.

Sheriff Walter states that on Monday, May 25, 2015 a deputy responded to 440 Hickory Street, Haywood City reference a burglary and stealing report.

The victim told the deputy that her residence was broken into and someone stole over $1,000.00 in stereo equipment and loose change. A witness told the victim that Gipson had stolen the items and taken the items to his grandmother’s house at 121 Walnut Street, Haywood City. The witness saw Gipson with the stolen items at this house.

The deputy went in the victim’s residence and items had been thrown throughout the residence, including clothing and furniture. In the back bedroom there was a window that was broken out. The victim stated this was how Gipson got in. The bedroom had items thrown throughout it also. The victim stated the stereo equipment and money had been in this room.

The witness told the victim when Gipson was told to get rid of items; he placed them in another bag. The victim later told the deputy that Gipson’s grandmother had located some of the stolen stereo equipment under Gipson’s clothing.

Gipson was located later at 445 Hickory Street, Haywood City. Gipson was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail. Gipson was booked in the jail pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Gipson remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $2,500.00 cash only.
