On Tuesday morning (05/26/15) at approximately 8:47 a.m., two members of our Citizens on Patrol volunteer unit located a gray Toyota Yaris parked on the shoulder of N US-65 at the 59.4 Mile Marker. While searching the area for a possible owner or driver, they located an adult female's body under the bridge nearby.

The deceased female has been identified as 20-year old Bethany Jacobson from Springfield, MO. Greene County Sheriff's Deputies did not observe any visible signs of trauma on the body such as a gunshot wound or other suspicious injuries inconsistent to a fall from an elevated area like a bridge.

After thoroughly processing Ms. Jacobson's vehicle, GCSO Detectives did not locate anything suspicious. The investigation is still on-going and GCSO Detectives will be present at the autopsy scheduled for tomorrow, where an official cause of death will be determined pending results from toxicology reports.
