Blackford County Man Injured in Grant County Crash
Grant County – This morning at approximately 10:02 a.m., officers from the Indiana State Police and the Marion Police Department responded to a two vehicle crash on State Road 18 at Grant County Road 400 East, in which a Montpelier, IN, man was injured.
The preliminary crash investigation by Trooper A.J. Coffee revealed that Jeremy Seacat, 40, Montpelier, IN, was driving a 2013 Dodge Neon westbound on State Road 18, near County Road 400 East. Paul Cousino was driving a 2015 Freightliner box truck westbound on State Road 18, in front of the Neon. The box truck slowed to make a southbound turn onto County Road 400 East, when it was rear-ended by the Dodge Neon.
Seacat was flown from the crash scene by a med-flight helicopter to a Ft. Wayne hospital. He suffered lacerations and broken bones. Cousino was not injured.
This crash is still under investigation, but at this time neither the use of alcohol nor narcotics is suspected as having contributed to the crash.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts which Trooper Coffee believes helped prevent more serious injuries in the crash.
