South Bend Man Arrested after Traffic Stop

St. Joseph County – Indiana State Troopers arrested a South Bend man Sunday night for possession of drug precursors and HTV (Habitual Traffic Violator), after he was stopped for a registration violation near Ireland Road and Miami Street in South Bend.

Troopers working out of the Bremen Post stopped Jason Owen White, 38 of South Bend, Sunday evening for having a false Indiana license plate on his car.  After talking with White troopers were also able to confirm that his driver’s license was suspended with an HTV status.  Operating a vehicle with a habitual traffic violator status is a class 6 felony in Indiana.

Troopers also discovered items in Whites possession that lead them to obtain a search warrant for his home at 1424 East Dubail Avenue in South Bend.  There they found several more items that are classified as precursors that are used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine which is a class 6 felony.

White was arrested and taken to the St. Joseph County Jail.  He is being held on charges of HTV and possession of precursors with the intent to manufacture.

*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
