On Tuesday (05/26/15) morning, 20-year old Bethany Jacobson was found deceased under a bridge near the area of North US-65 and East Farm Rd 68 in northeastern Greene County after two members of the Greene County Sheriff's Office Citizens on Patrol volunteer unit stopped to check on an abandoned vehicle. An autopsy conducted on Wednesday (05/27/15) afternoon determined Jacobson died from injuries she sustained from falling from the bridge; there were no other visible physical signs of trauma.

While this investigation is considered open pending toxicology and Medical Examiner reports, information and evidence collected indicate suicide.

"This is a tragic event and we extend our condolences to Ms. Jacobson's family during this difficult time," states Sheriff Jim Arnott.
