Sheriff Walter reports a Blodgett female arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child & Paraphernalia charges.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reports a Blodgett, Missouri female arrested for Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Loan K. Tran (24) of 285 Locust, Blodgett, Missouri has been charged with the Class C Felony of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Class A Misdemeanor of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Sheriff Walter states that on Friday, May 29, 2015, at approximately 0108, the Sheriff’s Office responded to 285 Locust, Blodgett for an intoxicated female that had left her child unattended inside a vehicle. Deputies arrived and located a vehicle, in the metal garage, with the driver side door open and the interior light on. From the driveway, a deputy located a nine month old male infant sleeping in a car seat with no one around.

The interior temperature was hot and humid. It was 72 degrees outside at the time. The interior was swarming with mosquitos and other insects. Medical personnel were contacted to check the condition of the infant. It was determined the infant was not injured. The Division of Family Services was later contacted and placed the infant with relatives.

The deputies located an open door into the residence. Inside the residence, deputies located Tran highly intoxicated, lying on the floor, with her head in a trashcan. Tran was vomiting in the trashcan and became aggressive towards the deputies.

Deputies located two smoking pipes, in plain view, with burnt marijuana residue in them. Tran did not know where her son was and told the deputies she had been “set up.”

Tran was placed under arrest and transported to the Scott County Jail. At the jail, Tran gave a chemical test of her breath and urine. Tran’s blood alcohol content was .148% and her urine tested positive for marijuana. Tran was booked in the jail pending the filing of formal chargers by the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney.

Tran remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond was set by the court at $2,500.00 or surety.
