Jefferson County Man Jailed Dealing Drugs During Warrant Service
Deputy – A Jefferson County man was jailed for dealing drugs after they were found in his vehicle during a traffic stop in Deputy.
On May 29, 2015 around 6:00 PM, Indiana State Police Trooper Andrew Garrett and Jefferson County Deputy Josh Cochran were enroute to a residence on 1525 W in an attempt to locate a William Russell Milburn. Milburn was the subject of an outstanding Jackson County arrest warrant. The officers observed Milburn, age unknown, driving a vehicle before they arrived at the residence. Trooper Garrett stopped the vehicle and took Milburn into custody without incident.
Trooper Garrett located some paraphernalia on Milburn while searching him. Deputy Cochran conducted a walk-around of the vehicle with his Canine “Glock” which resulted in an alert of the presence of drugs inside the car. Further investigation resulted in approximately 110 grams of crystal methamphetamine and nearly $2000 in US currency being located inside the vehicle.
Milburn was transported to the Jefferson County jail and incarcerated. He is facing one count of Dealing Methamphetamine over 10 grams, a Level 2 Felony, one count of Possession of Methamphetamine over 25 grams, a Level 3 Felony, one count of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony, one count of Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class A Misdemeanor and the outstanding Jackson County warrant.
The Indiana State Police and Jefferson County Sheriff Department brought this incident to a successful conclusion by making this arrest.
