Wabash between the railroad tracks near the south city limits and Sherman Road will be closed today and tomorrow.
As the resurfacing project for Wabash Road from the railroad tracks south into Monroe County re-starts, Wabash Road will be closed today, tomorrow, and possibly for a portion of Friday from the railroad tracks near the south Milan City limits to Sherman Road. A detour is posted.
The following reflects tentative plans going forward for the remainder of the resurfacing project as reported by the Monroe County Road Commission:
Wabash Road:
The contractor has determined that milling and using a cold central plant process for re-blending the stabilized base material will produce the best results for Wabash Road. The milling will start on Monday the 8th in the morning. That material will be taken to the pugmill and processed then returned to be laid through a paver. The plan is at the end of each day what has been milled out should be paved back in. We anticipate the cold central plant paving of Wabash to conclude around the 12th. After time for curing the follow-up chip seal will occur around June 16th or 17th and the final micosurface top will be placed around June 18th or 19th.
Other than today, tomorrow, and possibly a portion of Friday, Wabash will be open to traffic during the remainder of the resurfacing project, however there will be flagmen and/or lane closures as the resurfacing is conducted. Therefore, there will be intermittent traffic delays and interruptions and alternative routes are recommended.
