On June 4, 2015 at approximately 11:09 a.m., police officers and firefighters from the Noblesville Police & Fire Departments responded to the intersection of 156th Street and Boden Road (Noblesville) in reference to a report of a 2-car motor vehicle crash. Officers and firefighters arrived on the scene a short time later and began to investigate.

Based on witness statements and evidence at the scene, it appears that a 2013 Chevy Traverse was traveling westbound on 156th Street when it pulled out into the path of a 2008 Kenworth dump truck that was traveling southbound on Boden Road. At this particular intersection, 156th Street is regulated by stop signs and Boden Road traffic has none.

The driver of the Chevy was identified as a 17-year-old, from Noblesville, IN. The driver was transported by air ambulance to St. Vincent (Indianapolis). A 12-year-old passenger, also from Noblesville, was transported by air ambulance to Riley Hospital for Children (Indianapolis). The identity of the driver and passenger are being withheld at this time pending family notification(s). The condition of the driver and passenger were characterized as “critical” at the time of this release. There were no additional occupants in the vehicle.

The driver of the Kenworth was identified as Donald E. Moon, Jr., 57, of Arcadia, IN. The driver sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident and was treated at the scene. There were no additional occupants in the dump truck.

Investigators from the NPD Accident Reconstruction Unit were summons to the scene to collect evidence and gather information. As a result of the lengthy investigation, traffic was still being diverted around the intersection of 156th Street and Boden Road at the time of this release.
