Bicycle Helmets Save Lives!

This summer, parents should make sure their kids are wearing an appropriately fitted helmet when bicycling, skate boarding or riding a scooter. It has saved lives in the past, and we want to do our best to encourage everyone to have fun and be safe.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department is reminding all parents and kids under the age of 18 that wearing a bicycle helmet is the law. A first time fine if cited can be as much as $197.00 dollars. That’s an expensive lesson that can easily be avoided.
