Sweep by CLEAN Team Results in Five Arrests
Miami/Fulton Counties – A recent sweep by members of the CLEAN Team resulted in five arrests from Fulton and Miami Counties.
On June 4, officers served two Fulton County search warrants; one on a residence at 408 Brown Street in Fulton and the second at 613 East Central Street in Akron. At the Fulton residence officers allegedly found 13 marijuana plants growing in an above ground swimming pool, three marijuana plants growing inside the residence, drug paraphernalia, a rifle, $2,453 in U.S. currency, and spice. The home’s resident, Charles J. Vanes, 57, was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail. He faces criminal charges for dealing in spice, cultivating marijuana, possession of marijuana, and dealing in drug paraphernalia. He was allegedly selling drug paraphernalia and spice from his residence.
At the Akron residence, officers allegedly found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Patricia Pizzaro, 48, Akron, IN, was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail to face criminal charges for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. There were also three children in the residence. They were released into the care of the Fulton County Division of the Indiana Department of Child Services.
Officers recently executed a Miami County search warrant at 552 Monroe Avenue, Peru, IN. During their search, officers allegedly found methamphetamine, chemical precursors, and a look-alike synthetic substance. Frank Stambaugh, 32, Peru, IN, and Johnny Prater II, 27, Marion, IN, were both incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face criminal charges for maintaining a common nuisance , conspiracy to manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of chemical precursors, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a synthetic look-alike substance. James Stambaugh, 30, Peru, IN, was incarcerated in the Miami County Jail to face a criminal charge for maintaining a common nuisance.
The CLEAN Team is a recently created task force of 11 law enforcement entities that have dedicated resources to fight narcotics in Fulton and Miami Counties. CLEAN stands for Combined Law Enforcement Against Narcotics. The main focus of the CLEAN Team is narcotics enforcement with an emphasis on methamphetamine related crimes.
