A Craigslist SCAM was reported to the Delanco Police Department on June 4, 2015.
A female posing as a military member had listed a boat for sale on Craigslist with the cost of the boat being $2,800 plus a $200 delivery charge. She was selling the boat because she was being deployed on June 5th. The boat was a 22’ 2008 Sylvan pontoon boat. The victim/purchaser was instructed by the seller to purchase $3,000 in Amazon Gift Cards and take photos of the cards including the card numbers and send the photos to the seller as proof the purchaser/victim had the funds. The seller redeemed the cards by obtaining the card numbers from the photos and stopped all communication with purchaser/victim and the boat was never delivered.
