Severe weather threat continues, stay weather aware
Monitor the National Weather Service Indianapolis via NOAA radio, the FEMA smart phone app, and local media to stay informed severe storms may continue throughout the weekend.
The threat of severe weather is constant and can be more rapidly evolving than alerts or sirens. Their may not be time to alerts if the storm is fast moving. Besides the danger of tornadoes, severe thunderstorms create traffic hazards, downed power lines, and flash floods among other hazards.
Instructions:
The message from emergency management is clear, do not rely on the sirens to alert you to severe weather situations. All hazard weather radio and smart phone applications will provide more timely information. FEMA provides push alerts to your smartphone through their app. When working outdoors or away from shelter you should always stay weather aware.
