Search for missing mother & daughter turn into homicide investigation; daughter is still missing

On Sunday (06/15/15) at 3:10 p.m., several concerned friends and neighbors called 911 to check on Claudinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde and Gypsy Blancharde. Greene County Sheriff's Deputies were dispatched to the Blancharde home, located in the 2100 block of North Volunteer Way in northern Greene County, at approximately 3:15 p.m. When GCSO Deputies arrived at 3:26 p.m., several friends and neighbors were already at the home; one of the neighbors had entered the Blancharde residence through an unsecured window to check inside the home and told Deputies no one was inside.

Based on the suspicious circumstances and Facebook posts on Dee Dee and Gyspy's shared profile page, the GCSO issued an "endangered person advisory", secured the perimeter of the residence and obtained a search warrant for the home.

Upon service of the warrant, GCSO Deputies discovered the body of a deceased 48-year old female who was confirmed as Dee Dee Blancharde inside the home. "This situation has taken a very tragic turn - Ms. Blancharde was an apparent victim of foul play and her daughter Gypsy is still missing," states Sheriff Jim Arnott. "Our Detectives are still continuing to investigate this case and anyone with information regarding Gypsy's whereabouts or any other information regarding this investigation needs to call the GCSO Tip Line at 417-829-6230."

Instructions:

If you have seen 19-year old Gypsy Blancharde or have information about this investigation, please call the GCSO Tip Line at 417-829-6230
