News & Information from CPD
With the understanding that police officers can't be everywhere all the time, the Cochran Police Department needs the help of the residents of Cochran to help deter and prevent criminal activity. We need you to be informed and involved in your community. The best and safest way to do this is by forming Neighborhood Watch groups. CPD will help you plan and organize your group. If you are interested in forming a Neighborhood Watch group, contact Chief Chris Coley or Senior Detective Lt. Heath Williams at 934.4282.
Also, CPD has an online House Check Request form that can be completed and submitted electronically when your house will be vacant due to vacation, etc.. This form can be accessed at www.cityofcochran.com. Click on Departments, then Public Safety, then Police and find the Forms link on the left side of the page. When submitted, this form will be sent electronically directly to Chief Coley and distributed out to the Patrol Division.
Additionally, CPD has a Bicycle Registration form that can also be found in the same area on the CPD web page. This form can be printed from our website and then mailed or dropped off at our office. We will file this information and keep it secure. This is very useful information to help us identify the owners and return the approximately 35-40 bicycles stolen and recovered annually within the city.
CPD deploys a balanced approach to its patrol and enforcement responsibilities across the city and adjusts and adapts these strategies as circumstances warrant. We appreciate the help and support of everyone within the city. Please do not hesitate to call 911 and report anything you believe to be suspicious.
Please forward this information to family and friends.
