*CASE UPDATE*

19-year old Gypsy Blancharde has been located safe in Wisconsin; one person of interest in custody

At a press conference on Monday (06/15/15) morning at approximately 9:45 a.m., Greene County Sheriff Jim Arnott announced Greene County Sheriff's Deputies had located 48-year old Clauddinnea "Dee Dee" Blancharde's deceased body inside her northern Greene County home. Sheriff Arnott described Ms. Blancharde's death as "violent".

During the initial press conference, Sheriff Arnott learned 19-year old Gypsy Blancharde had been located safe in Wisconsin. "We have a person of interest in custody but this person is not necessarily a suspect," stated Sheriff Arnott. "We also extend our gratitude to the Waukesha Sheriff's Department in Wisconsin for their assistance in our investigation."

An autopsy for Dee Dee Blancharde has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m. this afternoon which GCSO Detectives will attend. A team of Detectives are also en route to contact Gypsy and the person of interest in custody.

"We can say with confidence that there is no lingering threat to the citizens of Greene County as it relates to this case," states Sheriff Arnott. "This appears to have been a targeted crime. Our Detectives were able to use a variety of sources including social media posts, emails and phone calls to successfully locate Gypsy."

The investigation is still on-going and updates will be provided as we receive new information.
